Today we went down to work in our community garden plot. It was the first time I had been down there in a while; it is really more of Jim and the kids' project. But it was nice to see it again. Some of the plots are very impressive. That being said, ours looked pretty good! This year we have planted tomatoes, squash, peppers, strawberries, some herbs, cucumbers, and two sunflowers(those are Cassidy's). The kids are always so excited to go down to plot, but lose interest when Jim starts weeding. So today, we decided to work a little Bible lesson in with working in the garden. I printed out a story and verses on the "Fruits of the Spirit" and a coloring sheet. So while Jim weeded, I read the kids the story. When they were done coloring, it was time to water. So we learned a little about growing edible fruit and spiritual fruit!
